Bluestar Engineering Ltd. is a Calgary based EPCM company specializing in small to medium size oil and gas projects. We are a group of professionals who form a fully integrated, multi-disciplinary organization backed by many years of experience.
We are currently seeking a Senior Materials/Stress Engineer to join our team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Initiate, analyze and perform stress analysis calculations while demonstrating in-depth knowledge of stress analysis techniques and applications.
· Responsible for the design and specification of piping and pipeline systems including valves, fittings, bends, specialty items, etc.
· Collaborate with project design leads and project managers/engineers to ensure all discipline specific deliverables are being met within project scope.
· Attend and participate in client/vendor meetings.
· Review materials, equipment, technical bid submissions and vendor drawings.
· Read and review pipeline hydraulic studies and related pipeline schematics.
· Manage the preparation and sign-off of project drawings, including isometrics, plot plans, general arrangements, alignment sheets and other piping/mechanical related drawings.
· Handle high pressure and high temperature lines, and lines connecting to vibrating/rotating equipment, static equipment, pumps, columns, etc.
· Responsible for static and dynamic analysis of piping and pipeline systems as well as develop and review material specifications and oversee any materials procurement.
Requirements:
· Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
· Eng. designation is required.
· Strong working knowledge of industry Codes and Standards (ASME, ASTM, CSA, API, etc.)
· Minimum 10 years of experience with materials/stress engineering.
· Minimum 10 years of experience in an EPCM setting.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Exceptional problem-solving skills.
