Bluestar Engineering Ltd. is a Calgary-based EPCM company specializing in oil and gas and renewables projects. We are a group of professionals who form a fully integrated multi-disciplinary organization backed by many years of experience.

We are currently seeking an Intermediate Piping Drafter to join our team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Use AutoCAD to develop 2D drawings and related documents according to Bluestar’s specifications or specific Client’s specifications.
• Produce 2D drawings including process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Work with the Project Process Lead and/or Senior Designer(s) as required
• Print drawings, adhering to schedule and quality requirements.
• Modify and revise design documents as required.
• Prepare and maintain drawing lists.
• Check to ensure accuracy and completeness of produced work, drawings, and reports
• Knowledge of upstream oil and gas production projects – single/multiwell batteries, test satellites, pipeline gathering systems, oil storage batteries, etc.
• Existing facility as-built model creation.
• Managing multiple projects of varying size and complexity at the same time.
• Ensure compliance with approved design standards and specifications to provide quality designs.

Requirements:

• Post-secondary diploma in Process Piping Drafting or equivalent program.
• 4 – 9 years of relevant 2D experience. EPCM experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of upstream oil and gas production projects – single/multiwell batteries, test satellites, pipeline gathering systems, oil storage batteries, etc.
• Good communication skills, personable and able to work with a team.
• Must be able to take direction and ask questions when necessary.
• Ability to adjust to change and multitask within a busy environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
